WLC Telugu – 1 :

Course Description:

Telugu-1 is the entry level course of the 4-year World Language Credit (WLC) program. In this level, students begin by learning the Telugu alphabet and building conversational skills. Through the year, they develop their phonetic skills for word construction, build vocabulary and grammar skills for communication through writing and speaking.

Course Objectives:

  • Grammar and Vocabulary:
    • Develop vocabulary words used in everyday conversations,
    • Construct words and simple sentences using the foundational grammar rules.
  • Writing and Reading Comprehension:
    • Read and write alphabet and simple words,
    • Identify and write spoken words.
  • Spoken Communication:
    • Engage in simple conversations to share their opinions, likes, dislikes, feelings, and emotions,
    • Use vocabulary in conversations,

Demonstrate differences in sentence constructs based on gender, person, and verb tenses.

WLC Telugu – 2 :

Course Description:

Telugu-2 is the second level course of the 4-year World Language Credit (WLC) program to learn Telugu language. Building upon skills acquired in Telugu-1, students expand their reading comprehension skills, writing skills, and listening and speaking skills. They further develop Telugu phonics, sentence construction and grammar. They interpret written and spoken language surrounding everyday topics.

Course Objectives:

  • Grammar and Vocabulary:
    • Build foundational grammar concepts (parts of sentences)
    • Expand vocabulary
  • Writing and Reading Comprehension:
    • Write complete sentences using simple words,
    • Read and understand stories.
  • Spoken Communication:
    • Express thoughts,
    • Describe pictures,
    • Class discussions on various everyday topics and literature analysis.

WLC Telugu – 3 :

Course Description: 

Telugu-3 is the third level course of the 4-year World Language Credit (WLC) program. Building upon skills acquired in Telugu-2, students learn advanced vocabulary and acquire deeper knowledge of grammar skills which assist in furthering student communication and writing skills. This course expands comprehension skills, advancing writing skills, improving listening and speaking skills. Students will train to hold meaningful conversations with native speakers.

Course Objectives: 

  • Grammar and Vocabulary:
    • Deepen knowledge of modern linguistics, translation, and Telugu vocabulary.
  • Writing and Reading Comprehension:
    • Comprehend simple books and poems,
    • Write simple essays, letters, and complex sentences.
  • Spoken Communication:
    • Express thoughts and make converse fluently,
    • Make speeches and recite stories.

WLC Telugu – 4 :

Course Description:

Telugu-4 is the final level for a 4-year World Language Credit (WLC) program. In this level, students advance their vocabulary and sentence structures to expand comprehension skills of advanced reading material, write complex sentences, and improve their listening and speaking skills. Students are introduced to mythological and contemporary prose and poetry.

Course Objectives: 

  • Grammar and Vocabulary:
    • Develop vocabulary words used in everyday conversations,
    • Write letters, stories, plays, contextual dialogs, and poetry,
    • Learn typing on a computer using the Telugu fonts.
  • Writing and Reading Comprehension:
    • Interpret oral and written conversations from different mediums,
    • Exposure to advanced prose and poetry,
    • Understand elements of literature and introduction to literary analysis.
  • Spoken Communication:
    • Express thoughts and converse fluently in a variety of settings,
    • Literary analysis through spoken word.
